Boyd Brings Decade of Education Leadership to New Role

As an innovative, mission-driven, school leader and former school Principal, Joel Boyd spent his career improving student outcomes in some of America's largest school districts. Prior to accepting the role at BrightBytes, Dr. Boyd worked as the Superintendent of Santa Fe Public Schools, where his initiatives around student achievement, vulnerability, and at-risk youth led to Santa Fe being among the fastest improving school districts in New Mexico. Dr. Boyd has served as the Assistant Superintendent at the School District of Philadelphia, as well as the Special Assistant to the Superintendent in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Dr. Boyd has his Doctorate from Harvard University from their coveted Urban Superintendents program, as well as a Master's in Educational Policy from Harvard, a Master's in School Leadership from Wilmington College, and a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Delaware.
